What antibiotic was given to the 2001 anthrax victims?

The anthrax victims were given the antibiotic Cipro. Cipro is part of the antibiotic group known as fluoroquinolones. These antibiotics are known to have risks with taking them, but they were also known to be a weapon against anthrax. But because of the risks in taking them, some victims are now suffering health problems such as tendon injuries caused by the antibiotic.

I found that the antibiotic that was given to the anthraw victims of 9-11-2001 was the drug Cipro. I also found that they used this because it was recognized that it would treat the anthrax, but they did have some other side effects.
