Results from 10/2 lab

Here are the results from our tests

BGA- The unknown flask and tube along with the known E. Coli turned he red agar to yellow. This showed that we did in fact have E. coli. The negative control did not change the color of the agar.

DNASE- All four things on our plate (both unknowns, neg. control, and known E. coli) turned clear which meant all of the things could break down DNA

EMB- The unknown flask and tube along with the known E. coli turn the a metallic green color on the agar so they were gram negative. The negative control was clear so i was gram positive.

Simmons cirtrate- no growth on the top or down to the bottom of the test tube

KIA- The was heavy growth on the top and it was blurry all the way to the bottom of the test tube. We also had air pockets in the test tube which meant that the bacteria produced a gas.
